* The game teaches you about Kiwami heat moves in the tutorial. You're gonna have to unlock those once the game properly starts, and you want to do it literally as soon as you can. They're Essence of Extreme Beast/Brawler/Rush on the Soul board. Go grind for XP if you have to, shouldn't take long, but if you don't take these to the funeral you'll probably kick yourself.
* As the gameplay is largely identical to [[Yakuza 0]], the combat tips from that page apply here as well. In addition, you can hold down L2 to stomp fallen opponents without using a Heat Action.

* Always carry Tauriner or Staminan to be able to put yourself in Heat mode during boss fights. When a boss goes into regeneration mode, you'll want to be ready to throw out a Kiwami move at a moment's notice.
* In the brief section where you're following Shinji in Chapter 3, don't miss the weapons merchant on the stairs as he sells some useful supplies.

* That being said, any Heat move will cancel a boss' regeneration.
* The game teaches you about Kiwami heat moves in the tutorial, used to stop bosses from regenerating health. It's worth making these a priority and carrying Heat-increasing consumables to use them immediately when needed, they're labeled Essence of Extreme Beast/Brawler/Rush below the center on the Soul board. Any Heat Action does the trick though, such as from a held weapon or object.

* There's a bit of a disproportionate ratio between how much Majima shows up and how much he's involved in the plot. Keep in mind this is a remake, originally he was a fairly minor character with just three appearances (you can probably work out which as you play).

* If you don't care about powering up the Dragon style and don't like the constant Majima encounters, you can stop him from appearing simply by not heading for the next event (marked green on your map) once you've filled the Majima Everywhere bar.
