* The late-game sidequest Life in the Sands involves gardening, which is based on real time and will take several real-life days to complete (or require you to manipulate the system clock). You can start the required gardening much earlier than the quest becomes available, and getting started as soon as you can will save you some waiting time down the line. There's no noteworthy reward for doing the quest, so feel free to skip it, but if you want 100% on sidequests, look at a guide for the details.

* The Junk Heap area is a major source for weapon upgrade components, but don't go out of your way to farm them. The game makes you go through there a lot of times as it is, and upgrading isn't really necessary.

  • The tips on the Nier page are still applicable.
  • As with Nier Automata, you only see the whole story if you play through the game more than once, but later play-throughs are different from the first.
  • To see all of the endings you need to collect all of the weapons in the game. 9 of these weapons are only available in part 1 of the game, which you will not go through again when you replay the game, so you should make sure to collect these weapons while you're in part 1. If you want more details, there are guides online.
  • If you use a gathering point (sparkling light) and it says you've run out of inventory space, it means for whatever item that was. It does not mean that you've run out of inventory space overall.
  • As far as side quests go there is a point of no return. Make sure you done all of the side quests you want to do in the first half of the game before you pick up the vapor moss. The fishing quest is the only exception and spans the whole game.
  • There is no downside to picking the weapon with the highest attack power in whatever category of weapon you prefer (Swords is only category of weapon in the first half of the game). Weight seems to have very little effect.
